Description
Removal of background hiss, breath and mouth noises, clicks and pop etc.
Please note, I cannot always guarantee 100% removal of noise – if the sound you wish to remove is in isolation (e.g. breath noises between phrases), that is no problem. However, if the noise is part of the overall sound when stripping out the offending noise you may lose a portion of the sound you want to keep. It’s a bit like trying to remove chocolate chips from a cake after it has been baked!
In essence noise removal comes down to either identifying exactly where the noise occurs (clicks and pops mainly) and actually cutting out very small, hopefully unnoticeable sections of the audio, or by stripping out certain frequencies of the sound within which the noise resides. It is likely, however that some of the sound you want to keep may well reside within these frequencies too and as such the remaining sound may be affected. You can tighten things up a little bit after you have removed the offending noise, but you’re never going to get back to a perfect sound after removing the noise that was there at the same time.
